HTT: Baby Chicks Deviled Egg Platter
March 12, 2013
For our “How To Tuesday” posts, we always try to pick a simple design that anyone can achieve, but this post is one of our SIMPLEST and EASIEST and perhaps CUTEST posts yet! All you really need is a paintbrush, one bottle of paint, two paint pens, and know how to draw a triangle. If you can find (or figure out) those things, you’re all set to make this absolutely ADORABLE Baby Chicks Deviled Egg Platter.
Materials Needed:
- Deviled Egg Platter
- Glaze Colors: Lemon
- Paint Pens: Orange Sherbet, Black
- Medium Brush
Instructions:
- Wipe down the piece with a damp sponge to make sure that no dust or dirt has settled on the piece.
- Paint the inside each divot three coats of Lemon yellow glaze. Allow to dry. Any stray brushstrokes can be erased with a damp sponge.
- Use the Black paint pen to paint eyes in the top third of each divot.
- Paint small triangles with the Orange Sherbet underneath each pair of eyes to create the chicks’ beaks.
- Draw two straight lines down from the bottom of each divot and add two more lines on the sides to create their feet.
- (Optional) Add any inscription in the center of the plate. You can trace it out first with a pencil and then draw it in with any color paint pen.
- Write your name or initials on the back of your piece with a paintbrush or paint pen. (Please note: Pen or pencil will not show up after the firing process.)
